This Thursday, 25 May, will see the Liberal Democrats, Labour and the Green Party celebrate an agreement to run Derbyshire Dales District Council for the next 4 years.
In his letter to the Times our Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Derbyshire Dales, Robert Court, adds his voice to those calling for the UK's first-past-the-post voting system to be replaced with proportional representation.
Whilst dashing about leafleting, one of the most common concerns I heard on the doorstep was about ageing sewerage systems and the environment. The River Derwent is a beloved feature of our area and used recreationally, both on the water and along its banks.
Liberal Democrats have become the largest party on Derbyshire Dales District Council. 6 councillors were elected, 6 out of 6 seats in Matlock (East + Tansley and West), 3 out of 3 in Darley Dale and 3 out of 5 in Ashbourne North & South.
Whoever wrote the latest Conservative campaign leaflet for Matlock had clearly not been concentrating when briefed about planning applications and developments in the town.
It seems that the Derbyshire Dales Tories are so concerned about the Lib Dem challenge in Ashbourne that they have embraced the 'Johnson' approach and simply made stuff up.
