Matlock Flood Warden at work
Derbyshire Dales Councillor Joanne Linthwaite and Matlock Flood Warden is out supporting residents by clearing drains where she finds them blocked.
Cllr Linthwaite (Liberal Democrats) says "The heavy autumn leaf drop has resulted in blocked drains which have in some places led to houses being flooded. The problems are particularly bad on side roads off Matlock's steeply sloping main roads. But the blockages are not only caused by leaves. Several drains are blocked by gravel and silt and need a proper clean."
Cleaning roadside gullies and drains is a responsibility of the Reform-run County Council. But Liberal Democrats are the ones supporting their communities in practical ways.
