East Midlands Mayoral Election - May 2 2024

On Thursday 2 May 2024, residents in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Nottingham will vote for the first ever Mayor for the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA).

The Mayor will work with councils in the Combined County Authority area to maximise its potential as a place to live, visit, work and do business. They will have the powers and responsibilities to make decisions across the whole EMCCA area.

Our candidate Helen Tamblyn Saville commented - Some of you have rightly raised asked why I do not appear in the East Midlands Mayoral booklet.The fact is that to have your election address included in the booklet cost an extra £5000. This is not widely known and is yet another barrier to people entering politics. If we want politics to be accessible and have politicians representative of everyone, then there needs to be a change.
